As soon as the Vietnamese government decided to promote the development of solar power,
particularly via a range of tax incentives, photovoltaic power plant projects began to blossom
throughout the country. The result was impressive, as in little over a year the share of solar
To meet the rapid increase power in Vietnam’s production capacity rose to 10%. The enthusiasm even proved to be
in demand for electricity, overwhelming in certain regions, where the network was completely saturated by the sudden
Vietnam has decided to bank on influx of energy. However, the national electricity company (EVN) responded in an exemplary
renewable energy. In just one manner and has already launched works to upgrade its networks and the problem is on the
year, over 4500 MWp of solar way to being solved.
          farms have been commissioned,

reactors. We have taken an could count on the support of the Group, which was working on large photovoltaic power
active part in this development plants in other countries. We therefore replied to several calls to tender. We were very quickly
by working on the construction commissioned with 7 projects for solar farms, representing about 10% of the capacity that was
of several of these photovoltaic finally installed in the country. Fortunately, we had a pool of experienced project managers and
power plants, notably Cat Hiep. engineers in Vietnam who were able to get started as and when the contracts were signed.
Within a few months, over 60 of our colleagues were mobilised in this area.
Cat Hiep photovoltaic power plant is fairly representative of very intense operations. Quadran
International, which had just bought the project, contacted us late in the day, in June 2018, with
the aim of commissioning the plant scarcely a year later. We rose to the challenge, steering
them towards a German EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) company capable
of meeting the deadline without making any concessions in term of quality. Over the summer,
we worked hand in hand with the French teams so that all the purchase orders were ready by
the end of August. In early September, we mobilised a team of 10 people on site under the local
supervision of a very experienced engineer, Vu Thanh Nam.
