Corporate social responsibility is a powerful legacy inherited by Artelia, as our work is all
about fostering the responsible development of our planet and a better life for humankind.
Through the projects we undertake on behalf of our clients, we help communities to
protect themselves against natural hazards, and to access clean water, energy and
transportation, more efficient and safer means of production, and buildings and cities that
are more pleasant to live in. This aspiration to help shape a better world is inherent in
everything we do and fires the creative imagination of our engineers. It is for this reason
that we have chosen to enshrine CSR in our corporate purpose: “Designing solutions for
a positive life”.
It has taken a process of discussion and reflection lasting many years to structure and
accurately define how Artelia wishes to position itself. This positioning springs from a
sincere commitment on the part of the Group’s management and employees and is
the true and unvarnished embodiment of our corporate identity. In 2017, we built our
CSR policy around a series of strong commitments coupled with 12 quantified targets.
EcoVadis, which assesses the CSR performance of nearly 50,000 companies worldwide,
has awarded us its Gold rating, ranking us among the “Top 1%” of engineering and
architecture companies assessed.
As a company constantly grappling with the environmental and societal challenges of our
times, in 2018, we signed up to the Global Compact France with a view to advancing the
UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). We recently moved further in this direction
by creating a CSR committee that includes people from outside the Group and whose role
is to guide the Board of Directors in their decisions. And progress is ongoing as we now
have a clear road map setting out ambitious objectives to meet by 2025 as we dedicate
ourselves, more than ever before, to playing a part in shaping a new world – a world that
is kinder to people and more mindful of the environment.
