CO.TE.BA. then became COTEBA International with the creation of its first subsidiaries
in Morocco, Cameroon, the Middle East, the United States and Monaco.
In 1993-1994 a new real estate crisis hit France, with devastating effects. We
therefore prospected in the oil sector and won projects involving visual identity
upgrades, refurbishing and maintenance of service stations. Within a few years, we
had worked on thousands of stations for Exxon, Shell, BP and Total all over Europe,
which developed into the creation of subsidiaries in several countries. We then
transferred this expertise in multi-site operations to banking groups, big names in
retail, and car dealerships.
Between 1970 and 1990, we increased our workforce from 100 to 360 and our
turnover grew exponentially, to finally reach 220 million Francs. Coteba was controlled
successively by the CBC (Compagnie générale de bâtiment et de construction), the
Compagnie générale d’immobilier et de services (now Nexity), and subsidiaries of the
CGE group (Compagnie générale des eaux).
