Katse dam - Lesotho, 1993-1997 Restoration of the maritime character of Mont-Saint-Michel - France
The buoyant state of the economy allowed us to complete various projects, reimburse
the debt and notch up significant growth. Our ranks grew to 1200 people in 2009,
while our turnover was multiplied by 2.5 in ten years. Activity was mainly in the fields
of water and energy, but also in urban development and the environment. The latter
became much more important over the years and sustainable development began
to feature, not as a market in itself but as a vision of the world which Sogreah fully
embraced.
The idea of joining forces with another company of a similar size emerged over the
course of exchanges with several other companies that were more or less in the
same situation. The size effect is important to keep an employee shareholding model Penstock on Nam Leuk dam - Laos, 1994-2000
alive, attract the best talent, and build up sufficient technical and financial weight
to invest in the development of the group and be seen as a true player by clients, in
international markets in particular. Ultimately, we built up good relations with Alain
Bentéjac, the CEO of Coteba, laying the groundwork for a merger between Coteba and
Sogreah that became official in 2010 with the birth of the Artelia Group.
