with local companies.
The creation of Artelia was a huge leap forward from all geographical, organisational and
methodological standpoints. In 2009-2010, we attempted to expand our services for Shell
to countries outside Europe, such as Russia, Canada and Argentina, but the results were
rather mixed. We therefore decided to rationalise our approach. In 2013, we created a centre
of expertise named Innofuel (which is today an integral part of the Oil & Gas Cluster). The
aim was to concentrate our international expertise, disseminate best practices and develop
innovative solutions for all issues relating to fuel distribution (construction techniques, safety,
flow management, value creation, optimisation of costs and deadlines, maintenance, etc.). This
called for a huge amount of teamwork, which paid off when we won three new countries in
2016: Oman, Thailand and the Philippines, where we succeeded in effectively transposing our
European model. In 2019, Shell also commissioned us to develop its network in Indonesia and
Mexico. These operations have now been launched and are a resounding success. Continuing
this success, in 2020, we have been awarded our first facility management contract for Shell in
Asia which further enlarges our scope of work.
